Artwork No. 145
The installation evokes a Japanese ship on the coast. The artist has applied sand to the surface to make it look like a ship made of sand, but it is made of lightweight materials that sway when the wind blows. Old netting and rope are entangled with each other in the bilge, forming a fantastical relief like a city. Sinkers, hooks, and other fishing gear dangle from the netting and the rope.
