FUKUTAKE HOUSE-ASIA ART PLATFORM
Fukutake House, which was launched in 2013 as a project to connect Asian regions through a village called Fukuda on Shodoshima, has been developed projects to deepen mutual understanding between Fukuda religion and Asian partners through various acti
vities such as "Fukutake House" renovated from the former Shodoshima Town Fukuda Elementary School, and "Fukuda Asia Restaurant" that local people cook each Asian dishes.
In 2019, the "Asia Gallery" has been newly opened on the second floor of the school building converted to a gallery space, and the exhibition focusing on Asian collection owned by Benesse Art Site Naoshima has been held.
The architect Ryue Nishizawa has refurbished the Asia Gallery. The Asian contemporary artworks from the Benesse Award which was recently developed in the Singapore Biennale, artworks collected through research trip as well as new works designed and p
roduced in accordance with the place and space have been exhibited.
