Born in Sakai City, Osaka in 1976. Lives in Hyogo Prefecture.
Although natural phenomena may seem to exist by chance, their existence is inevitable. Likewise humans are both random and inevitable forms of time and space. Intrigued by this characteristic, which is shared by humans, plants and animals alike, Miyake uses materials made by processing natural resources, such as stainless steel and ceramics, to contain nature or to make it grow naturally, foreshadowing the future of symbiosis, as if nature and humankind mirror each other.
