A place that connects islanders and visitors
The raison d’être, application or purpose of material things change along with the passage of time. Take, for example, a natural stone. It can serve as a milestone or a landmark, or become a sculpture or a sacred place. Each time the meaning of its existence changes, and it becomes a symbol of that place. The two artists made a stone-like object of plaster by the port, the busiest spot on the island, to produce a new spot that joins islanders and visitors.
