Despite the typhoon, the Triennale is going smoothly. The artworks rooted in the locality are excellent, and people’s comments indicate that the Triennale is fascinating, fun, and moving. Triennale performances, including dance, music, and theater, have also gained a solid reputation for their high caliber and expert performers from many different places.

Here I’d like to introduce a theater event that originated locally and offers something a little different. What Makes an Island? A Theatrical Analysis of Shodoshima by Kagawa University x Shodoshima Dream Project. Written and produced by Junko Toyonaga, it’s very interesting so I hope you’ll come out and support it.

As the script says, the project considers the future of Shodoshima on the stages of rural kabuki theaters. Local high school students have been working hard to prepare, and I’m looking forward to seeing the results. Ladies and gentlemen, let the show begin!
