Since ancient times, large stones have symbolized the sacred and been the focus of diverse rituals that have been passed down through the centuries. In today’s world, however, stones are seen as obstacles to development that should be removed. In this work, the artist applied gold leaf, which is used to gild Buddhist statues in Korea, to a large stone to large stones to represent to represent the glowing body of the Buddha attaining enlightenment.
