Shodoshima House Project

sd51

An architecture-related project set in an abandoned house on Shodoshima. Following up on projects in Aoyama and Kitaoji in Tokyo, this is the third in the Shinkenchiku House Project series, which takes as its theme the creation of “place” as media and explores new possibilities for architecture by viewing buildings not as permanent monuments, but as constantly changing documents. A vacant house in the Sakate area has been chosen as the site, but renovation work will pause during the Triennale period and the space will be opened for exhibitions and events.
