2023.01.30 Release of the Setouchi Asia Forum 2022 Report and Highlight video
Setouchi Asia Forum 2022, held in the autumn session of the Setouchi Triennale 2022, released the Report and the Highlight video.
Setouchi Asia Forum, since 2016, has created the interaction between the people who are engaged in local revitalization through art and culture, through various programs such as organizing international conferences, planning art festivals inspection tours, and issuing books.
In the open forum of 2022, for the first time after the relaxation of the travel restrictions due coronavirus pandemic, 29 people from 18 countries/regions took the platform, including those who joined online. Artists and concerned people, including internationally renowned sculptor Antony Gormley, and evacuating Ukraine artist Zhanna Kadyrova, Tadashi Kawamata, Natsuki Ikezawa, Fram Kitagawa, and Soichiro Fukutake made the presentations.
The Report, consisting of the presentation scripts, is the collected record of the current environment surrounding art from the perspectives of Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. We hope it could provide an opportunity to think about the turbulent world and what role art and culture can be played in there.
Also, the Highlight video on the official Youtube conveys the lively atmosphere of the open forum. Please take a look and listen to the artists’ voices from all over the world.
