ZHU Zheqin a.k.a. Dadawa
Dadawa is an important Chinese singer, crossover sound artist, founder of KANJIAN Creation, UNDP Goodwill Ambassador, and is currently visiting professor at the College of Design and Innovation, Tongji University, where she has established the Tongji-Dadawa SOUND LAB.
Over the past 20 years, with music as her point of departure, Dadawa has embarked on a journey of crossover artistic exploration. An avant garde pioneer of contemporary Chinese music, in recent years her works have entered the fields of sound as well as visual, design, public, community and performance art.
Representative works: Music(CD) - Sister Drum, Moonrise.Sound art- Sense of Hearing-Dadawa’s Sound Field Participative, Fuchun Mountain Soundscape, Sound Glaze, Tongji-Dadawa Sound Lab No.000 2018.Development- In 2009, Dadawa together with UNDP initiated the program of “SHOW THE WORLD—Culture-based Development Goodwill Action for Ethnics in China“, promoting contemporary design inspired by the wisdom of Chinese cultures and traditions.
