A space to convey the passion of Oshima residents “No numbness yet in lips or tongue, rare feelers that serve in place of eyes, searching, I eat.” This poem by poet and Oshima resident So Saiki depicts the raw form of a man who lived fully, never giving up on life. Using articles left by deceased islanders, the artist creates a space where we can almost feel the heat each person emanated.
