Awashima Artists’ Village
Murals expressing the culture, legends and lives of the Warli tribe
The Warli tribe in India use rice to create murals in mud and wattle walls. Three brothers made a cave on the walls of which they produced an ancient, traditional tribal picture.
The sea, endlessly regenerating the chain of life
The sight of a whale carcass being devoured by numerous creatures inspired the artist with an image of the circle of life, and she made six whale heads with Awashima landers.
