Both a museum and a hotel, Benesse House Museum is home to a myriad commissioned works created specifically for the site by artists-in-residence. In 2016, works by Yasuo Kuniyoshi form part of a showcase drawn from the Museum’s collection on the theme of “Social Commentary.” How contemporary society deals with problems such as urbanization and modernization is a central concern for Benesse Art Site Naoshima. The exhibition offers an opportunity to think deeply about our own era and society.
