Tamamo Park and Hiunkaku
Tamamo Park is a public park that is originally a remained site of Takamatsu Castle in Japan's three major Mizu-shiro (castles built on lakes or marshes for defensive reasons).
The Hiunkaku in the park was built in 1914 as a villa for the former lord of Takamatsu castle, Matsudaira family.
Hiunkaku Garden is designated as a national site of scenic beauty.
For a long time, Hiunkaku has been used as a guesthouse to welcome visitors to Kagawa.
It is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Takamatsu Port and JR Takamatsu Station, and is still popular as a historical building that can be easily visited.
