FUKUTAKE HOUSE-ASIA ART PLATFORM
At the 2013 Triennale, a defunct elementary school was transformed into an Asian Art Platform. A part of the renovation was handled by architect Ryue Nishizawa to provide a space for those deeply engaged with small Asian communities—artists, curators and other individuals, as well as groups such as NPOs, non-governmental organizations and art centers—to connect and collaborate on project implementation and presentations. As an open platform, it also serves to widen the scope of these artists’ and groups’ activities. The building contains an exhibition hall and a conference room, while the Fukuda Asian Diner uses part of the adjacent old school sports hall.
