Chichu Art Museum
Designed by Tadao Ando, the Chichu Art Museum is embedded in the hill to preserve the beauty of the landscape and natural environment of the Seto Inland Sea. The interior, which provides a permanent home for works by Claude Monet, James Turrell, and Walter De Maria, is lit solely by natural light in spite of its underground setting, and the ambience changes with the passage of the hours and of the seasons, offering new discoveries with each visit.
