Created from diverse media, including photos, video, words, and household items, Mitamura’s spatial artworks have been presented around the world. Taking as her clues points of contact between herself and the world identified through her fieldwork, she weaves personal memories and sentiments that are reminiscent of confessional I-novels yet transcend cultural differences into a “drama into which people can venture,” projecting them onto the space.
